The Ragged Cot Minchinhampton is not part of a chain, we’re independent AA Rosette Award Winning Restaurant and so what we offer is truly unique with a focus on superb fresh produce and genuinely friendly and efficient service. Our menus are created in-house and with the attention and detail you’d only expect from a fresh food kitchen – irresistibly innovative, with a choice of delightfully fresh flavours and familiar favourites.
Toast our Sunday Roast, or simply savour a hand-pulled cask ale. The Ragged Cot is a beautiful boutique country inn with a history spanning over three hundred years. From sun-drenched gardens in a picturesque Cotswold setting to roaring log fires creating a cosy atmosphere, the Ragged Cot is the place to be at any time of the year.
Having stood proudly since the 17th Century, the coaching house has an intriguing past filled with highwaymen and pilferage. Since been taken under new ownership in July 2022, The Ragged Cot has a modern, comfortable style – with dogs welcome in the bar area, and in Room No5 if you stayed the night over with your pet! The shabby chic interior and deeply cosy bedrooms are the epitome of countryside cool.

Can only say what a pleasant little hotel it is. Rooms were decorated in fitting with the building. Couple of niggly bits, walls and floors are very thin, ypu can hear your neighbours and even more from the rooms above, especially if they are heavy footed. But I'm a heavy sleeper, so it didn't bother me too much. Work over ran, unfortunately couldn't get re-booked in. Would have loved to have stayed again. The room is inc of breakfast, which was very nice and good portion, not too much and not to small. Also cereal and pastries on offer. Well, coffee as always for me, but a nice experience. Very good service, tasty bites, savoury and sweet, cosy inn. Visited for the first time for Sunday lunch, great location & maybe once upon a time it was cosy but now it's not as atmospheric :( sat in an area that was a tad drafty. Service was friendly & the food was lovely Mark Pollard24 January 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Restaurant was cold. There was a fire but not lit! Lighting the fire would have not only have warmed the room but also added to the ambience. Problems with water leaking in the reception area meant it was bit of a mess. We were looking for a cozy hotel in the Cotswolds to escape the hustle of London, and this place was perfect. The grounds were beautiful, and the dinner was amazing. The rooms had a lovely countryside vibe and felt so comfortable. If you love horses, you'll love seeing them around here. Just a heads-up—you’ll need a car to get around, or you can book taxis in advance. The staff were super friendly, and we can’t wait to come back! There's convenient parking right outside. The beer garden is delightful, especially during happy hour. The restaurant serves delicious food with excellent service. I highly recommend the Ragged Cot!
